Happy New Year everyone!  As I step into 2021, New Year’s resolutions come to mind. One on my list is to focus more on studying art and improving my craft through instruction, reading and “time behind the brush”.  I’ve literally scheduled on my calendar at least one hour a day every day in 2021 for some type of “Art Learning”, whether watching one of the myriad of instructional videos available out there, to reading more about art history and the masters that have influenced the world of art over the centuries.  And when Covid is behind us, restarting instruction classes with the variety of great artists in the Pacific Northwest area.

I also plan on being more structured with dedicating more time to actual creating my art (“time behind the brush”).  It helps having my own studio which allows me to jump right in and start painting each day.  No excuses.
I pushed my boundaries in 2020 going outside of my comfort zone of landscapes (which I can still improve on immensely) and dabbled in portraits, still life and illustrations.   I hope to experiment even more in this new year including contemporary and multi-media.  So many creative directions, so little time!
2021 is a clean slate (or easel in this case) for me to see where my craft and talents take me.  I’m excited for the prospects!  Wishing you the same creative excitement and enthusiasm for 2021!
