A fellow artist recently posted on social media: “Everywhere I go, everything I see, I look at objects, landscapes, movies, etc. I study them and think how can I paint that? It’s exhausting.”
On a recent vacation, I found myself more distinctly noticing the foam and color in a wave, the shapes and shadows of clouds, the sparkle on the water from a sunset, the color variance in the shadows of trees. Studying and practicing art has definitely awakened my visual senses to better appreciate all of the beauty around me. I highly recommend it.
